We welcome dental referrals from dentists across the UK and return patients to you for their routine care.

- Implant-retained dentures

- SMART safe amalgam removal
- Holistic and biological consultations

Jaw (TMJ) problems: book yourself, or be referred
Patients do not need a referral. If you have jaw ache, clicking, clenching or headaches around your temples, you can book directly with us, step by step:
- Jaw (TMJ) massage with Kerry Braithwaite, £90 per 30 minutes. Book online.
- Bite and jaw (TMJ) check with Dr Nikki Izadi, 20 minutes, £110, ideally the same Wednesday: Nikki checks your bite and fits an anterior deprogrammer (anterior bite jig), with instructions, as a diagnostic test to help show whether your bite is involved. Book online or call 01285 821220.
- Two-week pain diary: score your pain out of 10 each day.
- Review with Dr Nikki Izadi, £55: we look at your diary together and agree the next step, including a diagnosis, bite readings (facebow and T-Scan) or a referral to a specialist if needed.
Dentists: you can refer patients with jaw (TMJ) problems using the form below; choose "Jaw (TMJ) problems".
Get urgent help from your GP or NHS 111 if you cannot eat or drink, your jaw locks, or you have frequent, severe headaches. Read the NHS guide to jaw (TMD) problems for self-care tips: most jaw problems are not serious and often get better on their own.
Learn more about the bite: the British Society of Occlusal Studies (BSOS) is the UK society for dentists and dental technicians who study the bite (occlusion), and runs training in it.
How to refer
Use the referral form below. Every referral needs the patient risk assessment completed before it is sent. For safe amalgam removal, please also attach recent X-rays of the teeth involved; we cannot book the patient without them.
The form includes questions on anxiety and any special needs, so we can plan the right appointment length, support and access before the patient arrives.
We will contact the patient within two working days and keep you updated in writing.
Referred patients are welcome to use our laboratory
Whether you refer a patient to us, or we refer one of our patients to a specialist, the patient is always welcome to come back to the practice for the laboratory stage: crowns, onlays, bridges, veneers, implant teeth and dentures made in our on-site lab, Implant and Ceramic Centre. With your referral, they can have technical advice with the technician and see their new tooth before it is finished; you remain responsible for the clinical stages. We send the referring dentist a written update at every stage.
Root canal referrals
- Complex root canal treatment: specialist endodontist Dr Massimo Giovarruscio (GDC 101522), Bristol Specialist Dental Clinic, 9 North View, Westbury Park, Bristol BS6 7PT, 0117 923 8400. Refer online with the clinic's referral form for dental professionals (enter Dr Massimo Giovarruscio as preferred clinician), or through his own referral page. Fees are set and quoted by the specialist. After treatment, patients can return to us for the crown or onlay.
- Root canal treatment for patients living closer to Stroud: Dr Mihnea Pintilie (GDC 303731), dentist with a special interest in endodontics (not a specialist) who only does root canal treatment, and will use a BPA-free filling material if the patient asks, Fourways Dental Surgery, Middle Hill, Chalford Hill, Stroud GL6 8BD, 01453 884 634, reception@fourwaysdentalsurgery.co.uk. Packs are only assembled after the patient’s dentist has given a written treatment plan, so the pack matches the materials actually planned. We recommend the patient sees their dermatologist before ordering, with the treatment plan, so the dermatologist can say which materials they want to test. Order below and send the patient’s file, including the treatment plan, to lab@ceramiccentre.com. Please use secure or encrypted email for patient information. We confirm the order and send a secure payment link. Each pack is assembled for your patient and takes 2 weeks from payment, then it is posted or ready to collect, so please order in good time before testing.
